The "Munna Kampala, omanyi Kampala?" visual research practice reached a significant milestone on September 30, 2019, marking Day 260 of the ambitious 365-day documentary initiative. This entry notes the closing day of the Future African Visions in Time (FAVT) exhibition in Kampala. The collaborative touring showcase was hosted at Goethe-Zentrum Kampala in partnership with the Bayreuth Academy of Advanced African Studies.
Award-Winning Artwork (1st Place)
Centering on the designated theme “Middle Class in Kampala,” the documentary project explored the city's evolving socioeconomic landscape. The series achieved critical recognition during the event, securing 1st Place in the Kampala photo competition. By integrating this 365-day initiative into the FAVT framework, the presentation expanded from an archive of historic heritage to an active, real-time investigation of urban mobility, contemporary social structures, and the daily hustle shaping Uganda's capital city.
