"Bridging the Nile: The Exodus" is an expansive, long-term investigative photography project that tracks the architectural anatomy of the world's longest river. Shifting focus from the 365-day street series, this research-based project documents the massive engineering structures and historic bridges that span the Nile across five distinct African nations—stretching from its northernmost mouth in Egypt all the way down to its source in Jinja, Uganda.

Launched during an intensive research phase in Cairo from February 9th to February 14th, 2020, this initial chapter treats physical bridges as architectural archives. Rather than viewing them as static steel and concrete, the project frames these structures as historic markers that help us decode rapid urban development, political shifts, and regional connectivity. Bridges act as physical seams holding together the diverse fabrics of changing cities. By documenting how these structures direct human traffic, trade, and community encounters, this public presentation uncovers how major infrastructural points shape the modern identity, memory, and everyday survival of riverfront populations.
