Begin with an early morning departure from Kampala and travel through changing landscapes toward Mbarara. Here, take a walking tour through the town’s overlooked architectural gems. Visit the 1901 Mugaba Palace, once home to the Ankole kings, and the CMS Church perched on Kamukuzi Hill, a red-brick landmark of early Christian architecture. Colonial-era civic buildings and royal tombs complete a story of cultural evolution told through stone, symmetry, and space.

After lunch, descend toward Lake Bunyonyi, where hills ripple in green and the lake lies like a mirror holding history. Cross to your island lodge by canoe, and spend the evening surrounded by silence and songbirds.
